Stuart
A native Tasmanian, Stuart (El Jefe) travelled extensively in the Middle East, South and Central America before seeing the opportunity to live the good life in Panama City. After taking over ownership of Mamallena 3 years ago, Stuart realized the need for a 'Real Backpackers Hostel' in Panama and moved Mamallena to its current location in September 2008.

Stuart can often be seen in the bars and clubs around Panama and has all the advice and recommendations that you could possibly need.
Luke has been traveling, working and basically bumming around for the last 10 years. After spending the summer in Greece punishing his liver, he came to Panama in September to help in the relocation of Mamallena. Normally seen with a mop in his hand, Luke can occasionally be spotted out on the town. As of March 2011 Luke is no longer spending as much time here as he would like. He's currently galivanting around Africa or somewhere, who knows? If you see him please send an email.

Roxana
Roxanna has been a faithful Mamallena employee for the last 4 years and as our Front of House expert Roxanna ensures everything is in working order to make your stay exceptional.
Marialina has been with us for 4 years now and is the pretty face that greets you when returning from the bars and clubs at 4am or when arriving bleary-eyed for a long journey on a night bus. Normally seen behind the reception desk studying for her Tourism degree, occasionally you will see Marialina jiving away on a dance floor or two.

Gato
Gato is perhaps the most popular member of our staff and sometimes the hardest working, although when you see him sleeping in a pot plant or, at times, inside the occasional backpack you might find it hard to believe. Normally under house arrest, El Gato can often be seen playing in the street, climbing trees or just being his usual crazy self. Unfortunately as of March 2011 Gato is no longer with us. As one of the most active members of the staff Gato could often be found in the streets of Perejil late at night, waiting for hostel guests to return home. On one of these sorties he was unfortunately a victim of the Panama City traffic. Gato is gone but never forgotten. Our dog Choco is still here to welcome you through the doors, and opur new cat Milky will attempt to make up for Gato but I don't think he'l ever make the grade. Sniff........
